The Vice-Mayor added that at the place of placement was performed complete disinfection, migrants bought medicines and new clothes.

The mayor of Druskininkas Richardas Malinauscas added that recently illegals often complain about various ailments, but the heads of border municipalities can not always provide them with the necessary assistance. For example, narrow-profile specialists work in all urban hospitals, or there is not enough funds allocated from the budget.

Earlier in the State Border Protection Service, Lithuania announced a record number of illegal migrants detained during this year. According to preliminary data, over the past day, Lithuanian border guards caught 171 migrants, illegally crossed by the Belarusian-Lithuanian border. All detainees either have the citizenship of Iraq, or presented themselves with immigrants from this country.

Against the background of increasing the number of illegal immigrants, the Lithuanian authorities had to start building camps and centers in the border municipalities, which caused dissatisfaction with local residents. In some cities, people go to rallies and are trying to interfere with construction work.
