In Russia, they believe that new participants should be attracted to the US Contract Agreement. About this RIA Novosti told the Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov.
“The most priority is the involvement of Great Britain and France, as they are tightly coordinated with Washington policies in the military nuclear field within the framework of NATO alliance,” the diplomat explained.
Antonov added that the question of the accession of new participants became particularly relevant in the light of London’s recent decisions: British authorities will increase the maximum level of nuclear warheads by 40 percent, up to 260 units.
The final decision can be accepted at the Russian-American negotiations in Geneva on Wednesday, July 28. They will be devoted to discussing issues related to strategic stability.
The administration of the US President Donald Trump offered to attract China to the Russian-American negotiations on strategic stability, but Beijing refused it.
