Lithuania: police dispersed protesters against construction of a camp for illegal immigrants

In Lithuania, the police dispersed protesters against the construction of a camp for illegal migrants at the Military Polygon Rudninkai. This is reported by Telegram-channel edition RT.

Initially, people went to the rally against the camp, but later began to block the road to the place of its construction, refusing to skip the construction equipment.

Protesters held their positions until the police arrived at the place. The security forces dispersed the perturbed Lithuanians and opened the road to the landfill. Law enforcement officers were also detained 8 people.

Earlier, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Lithuania Agnek said that the Rudninkai Polygon is going to build a camp for 1.5 thousand places. The choice of location, she explained the presence of favorable conditions for continuous refugee monitoring and an increase in their flow on the border with Belarus.

July 26, in the State Protection Service, Lithuanian borders noted that this month Lithuanian border guards detained 100 times more illegal migrants from Belarus than in January.
