British scientists have published an article in the BMJ magazine, where they list a wider set of signs, with the help of which you can identify more cases of coronavirus at an early stage or in a slight form. The content of the material leads RIA Novosti.
Specialists of the University College of London under the leadership of Alex Crozier, along with colleagues from other British universities and medical facilities, made an extended list of features that are characteristic of early stages of coronavirus infection.
The authors of the study disclosed that the most common symptoms, including cough, fever, odor loss or taste, allow you to identify only 69 percent of symptomatic cases, and a combination with great coverage – fatigue, smell loss or taste, cough, diarrhea, headache , pain in the throat – already 96 percent. At the same time, for young people up to 17 years, an indicative sign is a headache. For adults – loss of appetite, and for people from 18 to 54 years old – muscle pain.
Researchers believe that such an approach can increase the share of coronavirus detection in the early stages at least by a third.
Earlier, the public health Agency England listed the symptoms of the new strain of coronavirus. So, the main symptoms also do not differ from the rest of the strains. Scientists range to them increase temperature, continuous cough, smell loss and taste. The strain has not yet been added to the list of “concern”, which forms WHO.
