In the center of the training of cosmonauts named after Yu.A. Gagarin held memorable events dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the crew of the Soyuz-11 spacecraft. The tragedy occurred on June 30, 1971. When the astronauts of Georgy Dobrovolsky, Vladislav Volkov and Victor Patsayev returned to the ground, after performing the tasks in the orbit, the descent apparatus occurred.
Lack of rescue spaces on the crew, the imperfection of the design of the ventilation valve and its location, the inconsistency of the instructions for the technique itself, – the circumstances of the catastrophe specialists are still discussed. Half a century by the standards of human life – a long time for memories to lose their brightness. However, in the CPK about the tragedy with the crew of Dobrovolsky, they say as if she happened quite recently. With bitterness, which did not leave anywhere over the years, there may be every detail of the flight, worthwhile to astronauts.
The event in the CPC opened the head of the First Department of Valery Korzun. He spoke about how the memory of the dead cosmonauts retained at the site of landing their descended apparatus 176 km from the Kazakh Jazcazgan. The first monument to the crew of the Soyuz-11 ship was destroyed by vandals. Carrying people did everything in their power, not allowing to be empty a memorable place: the homemade structures were mounted, the flowers carried them, while the new monument was not installed in Jazcazgan. By the 50th anniversary of the tragedy, a mourning wreath from CPK was delivered there.
Head of the Urban County Star Town Evgeny Barishevsky expressed regret that the event that is significant for all employees and residents of the town failed to spend on a larger scale due to the epidemiological situation in the country and the region. Veterans of the center in their speeches again and again returned to the reasons of the tragedy. Reflect on, could the volunteer crew escape for those 40 seconds that have become fatal for him? From the declassified archival documents, the conclusions of the physicians and stories of eyewitnesses of the tragedy there was a picture of what happened. One can only guess what states were experiencing astronauts before death.
