Former president of South Africa gave 15 months of prison

The former President of South Jacob Zumu was sentenced to imprisonment: he was given 15 months in prison, reports Reuters news agency. Earlier this year, he did not appear on charges of corruption schemes.

He had to appear at the trial in February of this year. In May, the former head of state stated his innocence on corruption, extortion and fraud at the conclusion of state contracts for the purchase of weapons in the French manufacturer.

Jacob Zuma resigned in 2018 due to accusations of corruption. In total, politics impose almost 800 cases of extortion, bribery, as well as money laundering when entering into international delivery transactions and the acquisition of weapons worth more than two billion dollars.
