Firefox will change logic of saving files open after download

Firefox 91 will provided Automatic saving files open after downloading in external applications, in a regular directory “Downloads” instead of a temporary catalog. Recall that Firefox offers two download modes – booting with saving and loading with the opening in the application. In the second case, the downloaded file was saved in a temporary directory that was deleted after the session is completed.

This behavior caused the dissatisfaction of users who, if necessary direct access to the file, had to additionally search for a temporary directory in which the file was preserved, or re-load data if the file was already automatically deleted. Now it is decided to save the files open in applications by analogy with ordinary downloads, which will significantly simplify operations such as sending a document to another user after its initial opening in the office package or copying the multimedia file to the archive after opening in the media player. In Chrome, such behavior is realized initially.
