Scientists from Oxford University proved the effectiveness of mixing two vaccines from coronavirus. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the preprint of their work, published in the medical journal Lancet.
According to the study, a combination of the first injection of the drug from Pfizer and the second from Astrazeneca, which must be done with a difference of four weeks, gives the greatest immune response. At the same time, mixing vaccines in the reverse order demonstrated a somewhat worst result. At the same time, the greatest level of antibodies, according to scientists, still provides vaccination with two doses of the drug Pfizer.
Researchers expect that the results of their work will help more flexibly use coronavirus vaccines in those countries where it will be necessary.
Earlier, English scientists also warned about the possibility of more side effects after mixing vaccines from COVID-19 Astrazeneca and Pfizer. They found that light and moderate reactions to the vaccine, such as fatigue and headache, were observed much more often, when two different vaccines were introduced, rather than when a person was given twice alone.
