The Foreign Ministry of the Czech Republic officially handed the Note to the Russian ambassador, demanding complete compensation for damage for explosions in Vrbetice in 2014. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov compared the actions of the Czech authorities with the behavior of extortioners. It has placed the corresponding post in its Telegram channel.
Zakharova commented on the media message about the presentation of the note – said that the Czech Republic confirms its status of the “unfriendly state”, and its authorities “act on the principle of the Russian proverb” to punish innocent, award not involved “.”
“I want to remind. Usually acting in a similar way – without trial and the investigation, with threats and insults that require money, they call extortioners,” the diplomat concluded.
Earlier on June 28, it became known that the Czech Republic’s authorities demanded compensation for damage after the explosion in Vrbetice in 2014. We are talking about the amount of 650 million kroons (about 25.5 million euros), they are planning to distribute to victims of local residents and distribute among the authorities of nearby settlements.
The explosions of ammunition at military warehouses in the village of Vrbetitsa occurred in 2014. Then two people died. In mid-April 2021, the Czech Republic accused Russian special services in involvement in the occurrence, although different Czech politicians speak with different opinions about explosions. Thus, the Prime Minister of the country Andrei Babish does not doubt Moscow and does not consider other versions of what happened, and the President of the Republic of Milos Zeman insisted on the investigation of various interpretations of the incident.
Anyway, the accusations of Prague led to the exacerbation of her relationship with Moscow. It is because of this that Russia made the Czech Republic in the list of unfriendly countries.
