In Transneft, they appreciated the possibility of re-appearing of dirty oil in the main oil pipeline “Friendship”. The repetition of the 2019 situation in the company was considered impossible, TASS reports.

Russian export oil contamination occurred in April 2019. The fuel was delivered to Europe through the “Friendship” pipeline through the territory of Belarus. The government recognized the responsibility of Russian oil and transport companies, but it stated that payments will not exceed 100 million dollars.
By the fall of last year, buyers from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary received compensation. In addition to them, the claims presented Belarus: Minsk announced that contaminated oil damaged the pipeline and negatively affected the work of local oil refineries, assessing losses of 61 million dollars.
In the spring of 2021, “Transneft” recognized that the issue of compensation for damage to PKN Orlen, Shell companies and others are far from settlement.
