American rapper and designer Kanye West sued the popular Walmart brand for selling fake sneakers Yeezy. This is reported by New York Post.
The artist filed a lawsuit in California’s court in Los Angeles. The materials argue that the large trading network copied the design of closed beige sandals with the Foam Runner holes and began selling their budget version in their supermarkets. On the Walmart website, the cost of this thing ranged from 22 to 34 dollars (from 1585 to 2450 rubles), while the original Yeezy sandals were sold at a price of 75 dollars (5405 rubles).
According to the content of the complaint, fake “low quality” sneakers are damaged to the reputation of the Yeezy brand. In addition, rapper saw in this problem the threat of “multimillion losses”. So, West and representatives of the Yeezy brand demanded that the copied goods remove from the Walmart company.
Representatives of the supermarket, in turn, stressed: “We are serious about such statements and carefully consider them. We will answer in court if necessary.”
In April, it was reported that the first sneakers from the Yeezy Rapper Raper Raper Susta sold at auction at the highest price in history. Sotheby’s Auction House put Nike Air Yeezy 1 for auction on April 12, and already on April 26 they were bought in 1.8 million dollars (135 million rubles).
