The leader of the Alternative for German Party, the deputy of the Bundestag Tino Kravalla appreciated the consequences of turning off Russia from the Swift payment system. This reports RIA Novosti.
According to Kruplla, he hopes that this step will not be taken, because it can isolate the country. He emphasized that he does not approve such measures. At the same time, the deputy noted that he is not sure about the efficiency of turning off Russia from SWIFT, since in the end, this step will again cause damage to the European economy.
Parliamentarian added that in Russia the financial communications transmission system has already been developed and it is looking for new ways. Moscow has its own interests, in Germany – their own, if you build a dialogue on this, then the parties could establish good relations, he summarized.
The possibility of turning off Russia from SWIFT has been repeatedly discussed against the background of a strengthening sanctuction pressure on the country. In March, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Sadkov was pointed to the possibility of such a step by the United States. In April, with a call, to introduce relevant restrictions for Russia, the largest faction of the European Parliament, the European People’s Party (ENP). The representative of the SWIFT itself in June assured that the country will not be disconnected from the international bank transfer system, explaining this disadvantage of such a measure.
