Argentina rated effect of Vaccine “Satellite V” for mortality from COVID-19

One dose of the Russian Vaccine “Satellite V” reduces mortality from coronavirus by 70-80 percent among patients over 60 years old. Such data are followed from the preliminary results of the study conducted by the Ministry of Health of Argentina, RIA Novosti reports.

After the introduction of the second dose of the drug, mortality drops by more than 90 percent. Similar results also demonstrates the Astrazeneca vaccine. The study was based on 471,682 people aged from 60 years.

The production of the Russian drug in Argentina began in early June. The launch ceremony passed in video conferencing format. It is estimated that at the initial stage will be produced one million each of the doses of the vaccine.

Earlier, the head of the Technical Group of Emergency Diseases of the World Health Organization (WHO) Maria Wang Kerkhov said that in relation to all COVID-19 options, causing anxiety, vaccines remain effective against severe forms of disease and mortality. She emphasized that the full level of protection provides only both doses of the vaccine. Therefore, the WHO representative advised everyone who received the first injection of the drug, to complete the vaccination procedure.
