Half of Russians abandoned ATMs

More than half of Russians (51 percent) practically do not use ATMs. Do this daily about 11 percent of citizens. It is reported by TASS with reference to the RGS Bank survey.

Every third Russian abandoned ATMs in favor of remote formats of interaction with banks. Another 21 percent uses an ATM several times a year. About 25 respondents make financial transactions with their help several times a month, and 13 percent – weekly.

In Moscow, ATMs every day use only 6 percent, another 10 percent – several times a week, 25 percent – several times a month, 23 percent – a couple of times a year. Do not use ATMs of 36 percent Muscovites. At the same time, the majority (64 percent) stated that during a pandemic of their preferences in the frequency of use of ATMs practically did not change.

Early it was reported that cellular operators will have to turn off SIM cards that support communication in ATMs if the Russian authorities do not finalize the rules for the provision of services for corporate subscribers. Later, a way was found to avoid mass disconnection of ATMs. The Ministry of Medizifra will introduce the transition period to register SIM cards used in devices for remote control of their work.
