Prisoners of labor camps in North Korea face sadistic cruelty: they are trying and drown hunger. About this “Lente.ru” said Zhyhen Pak, refugee from North Korea and human rights activist.
Pak referred to the Labor Camp in 2003. There were no windows in the barracks, there was a terrible stench – the prisoners were not allowed to wash. “We did not have normal toilets, it was impossible to retire. When we managed the need, you could not take a look from the warders – otherwise we were beaten,” the woman said. According to her, what happened in the camp was akin to Holocaust, “only against their own citizens.”
In addition, prisoners were forced to work by barefoot: the warders feared, which otherwise it would be possible to escape. Because of this, many prisoners wounded about glass and stones lying on Earth. Those who resulted a little rest, the warders beat and tortured, so I had to continue to work, despite the bleeding wounds.
According to various data, at least 120 thousand people are located in North Korean work camps. According to human rights laws, in labor camps can be reached for various reasons – from political views to the video from South Korea. So, in mid-February, the DPRK authorities increased the maximum prison sentence for viewing video footage from the neighboring country: now it is possible to get under 15 years.
