The EU officially accepted economic sectoral sanctions against Belarus. This is stated on the website of the European Council.
It is noted that the union has already introduced sanctions against 166 physical and 15 legal entities. According to agreed measures, the EU limits Belarus’s access to its financial markets, introduces restrictions on the trade in petroleum products and potash fertilizers, as well as tobacco products.
The association will also ban the transfer of technologies and equipment for wiretapping and intercepting Internet and telephone communications, the transfer of goods and technologies of military and dual-use, insurance services for the authorities of the republic.
The European Investment Bank will stop payments on any projects in the Belarusian Gossector.
