Pensioners offered to replace migrants on Russian construction projects

To mobilize labor personnel in the Russian construction industry, you can attract pensioners who no longer work. Such an application expressed the Deputy Prime Minister Marat Husnullin, writes “Prime”.

Regions “are practically fighting for labor resources,” he noted. “We fell into the demographic failure of the 90s and the beginning of zero. Therefore, we need to build a competent policy of attracting specialists. This is a training, and mobilization of even non-working retirees,” Husnullin stressed.

Deputy Prime Minister also led an example case from his own career. “When I needed to solve complex objective design challenges, we collected designers from all over the Soviet Union, who were already retired,” he remembered. Huskovlin also added that about five million labor migrants need to be attracted to the construction industry of Russia until 2024. Migrants were already offered to replace the prisoners and students.

With the shortage of labor, Russia faced against the background of the coronavirus pandemic. According to the Ministry of Taking, in early March, construction projects marked a shortage of 1.2 million workers.

Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture and Russian Railways wanted to import labor migrants to Russia on charter trains for seasonal work in the field. It is assumed that this will solve the issue of lack of labor for the needs of the agro-industrial complex.
