The first information about the genome of the original version of the coronavirus disappeared: they were removed from the American bases in June 2020. This is reported by Bloomberg with reference to sources.
We are talking about a strain for the first time identified in the Chinese Uhana at the end of 2019. Information about the genome of the virus was kept in the database of the US National Institute of Health (NIH), it was provided by the authorities of China.
However, the Chinese researchers recalled this information: then they stated that the information should be updated, and the old one needs to withdraw “to avoid discrepancies.” Bloomberg sources in NIH explained that researchers from the PRC had the full right to dispose of their data.
“Our institute cannot build assumptions about motives [researchers withdrawing data]. Especially if it goes beyond what the Chinese scientists themselves say,” the NIH representatives added.
Now the disappearance of the first SARS-COV-2 data is suspicious: so, the American virologist Jesse Bloom (Jesse Bloom) believes that the PRC authorities could hide another outbreak information in Uhana.
scientists and politicians have repeatedly said that Beijing can intentionally bleed data on the spread of coronavirus. In particular, at the end of May, Republicans from the Chamber of Representatives of the US Congress published a report on a possible leakage of infection from the Chinese Research Laboratory. The document states that the American side has “serious indirect evidence” of such a position.
In addition, in May, the international group of scientists recognized that there are two plausible versions of the beginning of the Pandemic COVID-19: it could arise both as a result of a zoonose (infectious disease) and when leakage of a virus from the laboratory.
