The US and the United Kingdom responded to the decision of the Moscow City Court on the recognition of the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK, included the Ministry of Justice in the register of organizations performing the functions of a foreign agent) the extremist organization forbidden in Russia. So, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UK Dominic Raab declared the “viciousness” of the decision. According to him, this is another “Kafkian attack on those who oppose corruption and for an open society, and a conscious attempt, in fact, to withdraw a real political opposition in Russia outside the law.”
In the US State Department condemned the decision of the Moscow City Court. In a statement by the official representative of the State Department of Prizes, the price says that the sentence exposes employees, volunteers and thousands of supporters throughout Russia the risk of criminal prosecution and imprisonment for the implementation of fundamental human rights guaranteed by the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
In addition to FBK, the non-profit organization “Fund for the Protection of Rights Protection Fund” has been eliminated, the court also banned the activities of the Navalny headquarters. Representatives of Navalny left the meeting room even before making a decision. Lawyers intend to appeal the verdict.
Alexey Navalny at the moment is in a correctional colony (IR-2) in Pokrov. There he is serving a punishment in the case of “Yves Rocher”. In mid-January, he was arrested in Sheremetyevo on returning from Germany. The founder of FBK was replaced by a conditional period for real. The reason was the non-compliance with the bulk probation. According to the court decision, he will stay in the colony of 2.5 years.
