Over the past five years, Russia has invested in the projects of import substitution of the order of two trillion rubles, said Vice Prime Minister Yuri Borisov during the final board of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, reports TASS.
The official stressed that the work in this direction will continue, and the contribution to the development of import substitution projects, including sanctions.
“Sanctions have two sides: one – negative, they really interfere with movement forward. On the other hand, it is a good motive in order to [develop] import substitution, take the corresponding niches, configuring yourself,” Borisov said.
The first deputy prime minister Andrei Belousov also pointed to activate the import substitution program at the end of May. He paid attention to the need to reduce dependence on foreign supplies.
Relevant projects concern and technology areas: authorities are counting on to speed up Russia’s transition to domestic software.
