Central Bank has raised key bet 11 June

The Central Bank has raised a key rate by 0.5 percentage points – up to 5.5 percent per annum, said in the message on the regulator website.

The decision was predicted by analysts that predicted raising rates by 0.25 or 0.5 percentage points. As the main occasion, they called the growth of inflation, the pace of which is significantly ahead of the landmark of the Central Bank, set at the level of four percent per annum.

For the first week of June, consumer prices in Russia amounted to 0.16 percent, from the beginning of the year – 3.65 percent. Also at a high level are inflationary expectations of the population, which are considered one of the key factors affecting inflation. In May, they were 11.3 percent in annual terms.
