The transition to the four-day working week is irrelevant. This was stated in an interview with Izvestia Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov.
“Taking into account the flexible forms of employment, which we have now provided in the Labor Code, the need to transition to a four-day working week is necessarily irrelevant today,” he said. Kotyakov believes that the latest changes to remote employment meet the requests of society and allow the employer to form a flexible schedule.
“And if necessary, you can make four-day work in the office, and a three-day, and a couple of days with a certain remote work mode, you can work because of the city,” the minister added.
Earlier head of the department of the economy of labor and staff of the Economic Faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosova Tatiana Razumova noted that the concept of “four-day working week” is somewhat conditional. “Man just not 40 hours will work, and 32 hours a week. These 32 hours can be distributed depending on the type of activity,” she said.
In October, the Deputy Challenge of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev stated that the four-day week could gradually introduce in most countries of the world. After that, a member of the Federation Council, the Deputy Challenge of the Social Policy Committee Valery Ryazansky allowed a reduction in the working week in Russia.
