Norwegian company Vivaldi Technologies released new version of the browser Vivaldi 4.0 For desktop and Android. The browser is based on the open Code Chromium and developers declare a fundamental refusal to collect user data and their monetization. Build Vivaldi prepared for Linux, Windows, Android and MacOS. For past issues, the project under the open license distributes the original texts of the changes to the Chromium. The implementation of the VIVALDI interface is written on JavaScript, available in the source texts, but under proprietary license.
The browser develops by the former developers of Opera Presto and sets its task to create a custom and function browser that saves user data privacy. The main functions include the lock and advertising lock, notes, stories and bookmark managers, private viewing mode, synchronization protected by end-to-end encryption, group grouping mode, side panel, configurator with a large number of settings, horizontal display mode of tabs, as well as in test mode Built-in email client, RSS reader and calendar. The browser interface is written in JavaScript using the React Library, the platform Node.js, Browserify and various finished NPM modules.
In a new release:
- Added built-in translator, allowing you to translate web pages entirely in automatic and manual mode. At the moment, more than 50 languages are supported, in the future, the number of languages supported is planned to increase to 100. The engine of the translation system is being developed by the company LingVanex , while the whole cloud of translator Posted on Vivaldi’s own servers located in Iceland.
