In the United States began selling eggs made taking into account the principles of regenerative agriculture, and the price of the new product is eight times higher than the price of standard packaging, writes Bloomberg.
Regenerative agriculture allows you to lock greenhouse gases in the soil: it can be argued that the production of eggs in such conditions helps to deal with climate change. The product has already appeared on the shelves of American stores at a price of eight dollars per dozen, while ordinary eggs can still be found at a price of less than a dollar.
Over the past decade, manufacturers have already managed to convince consumers to overpay four times behind the so-called organic eggs and in seven – for the eggs of the chickens that were grown in more favorable conditions, notes Bloomberg.
Industry representatives note that those consumers who are already ready to pay for products with “free walked chickens” and “without GMOs” will also support the idea of eggs that help take care of the environment. Polls show that the younger generation is concerned about climate change, and the success of the so-called vegetable meat can talk about their desire to protect the environment.
Studies already suggest that by 2035 the tenth of meat, eggs, dairy products and seafood will be made from alternative proteins.
