France President Emmanuel Macron commented on the reports of the US surveillance over European politicians, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (current president) of Germany Frank Walter Steinmeier. According to the French president, it is unacceptable between allies. His words reports TASS.
“It is unacceptable between allies and is even less acceptable between allies and European partners,” he said.
Earlier on May 31, the Secretary of State at FMO FRANCE Cleman Bon also commented on the surveillance data. According to Reuters, he condemns such actions if Washington really did it.
Before that, the Süddeutsche Zeitung newspaper wrote about the surveillance of the US National Security Agency for Merkel and Steinmeier. According to the publication, the special services of Denmark provided the Americans with access to a special station near Copenhagen, where the cabinet was conducted. The newspaper notes that this station could have access to underwater cables of Internet providers. Thus, the United States led to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance of Denmark, as well as at one of the enterprises of the military-industrial complex.
