Russia stated “more aggressive externally” country

NATO was called Russia a country that is becoming increasingly aggressive in foreign policy. This was stated by the Deputy Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Mircha Joane. His words reports the Romanian AgeRpres agency.

“The actions of Russia destabilize, unfortunately, we see that Russia is becoming increasingly repressive inside from the point of view of political opponents and more aggressive externally,” said Deputy General. He stressed that NATO adapts to new realities in the international arena. Joane added that the Alliance is ready to defend all his allies from any threat.

According to him, Moscow intently observes the actions of the organization, but refuses to negotiate. “I personally sent repeated requests from the Russian side several times about the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council. Unfortunately, so far Russia did not give a positive response,” he said. Deputy General noted that the last request was sent a few days ago.

Earlier, the NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance wants to improve relations with Russia. He noted that even if the relationship does not improve, Moscow and NATO must support a dialogue that becomes even more important in the context of difficult interaction of the parties.
