Lawyer Alexander Filanovich stated that Safier Sapeghe detained in Minsk was still charged. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the defender predicted that the authorities would charge Sapega on May 31, in the afternoon. However, according to him, law enforcement officers decided to extend the investigative actions in a criminal case until June 1.
The progress of the investigation remains classified. The girl is still in the SIZO of the KGB, despite the demands of the Belarusian legislation, according to which the suspect is obliged to make a charge within 72 hours after detention or release free.
Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makay, said that the investigation checks the Sarega for involvement in the management of the Telegram-channel, which published personal data of law enforcement officers. He made that the court over the detainee can take place in Minsk, after which the President Alexander Lukashenko may decide both about the pardon of the girl and about its transfer to Russia.
On May 23, the airline Ryanair airlines flying from Athens to Vilnius made an emergency landing in Minsk after mining reports. On board the creator of the Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich was detained with his girlfriend, Russian Safie Sappa. In Belarus, Protasevich is accused of creating extremist formation and calls to mass riots after the presidential elections in August 2020, and the Sarega – in inciting hostility.
