Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke about the trenches erected by Europe in relations with Moscow. It quotes RIA Novosti.
According to the minister, the general history testifies that without Moscow, or in harm to it, to build a solid security architecture on the continent and to ensure its peaceful development has never succeeded.
“It is not very clear to us that it is moving those who claim that Russia is not interested in dialogue. This is not true. Repeatedly said that they were open to constructive interaction with the European Union, but, of course, on the principles of equality and mutual respect,” – Lavrov said in a conference dedicated to the relations of Russia and the European Union.
He noted that there are a number of areas between Russia and the European Union, despite the current situation, where the interaction is important: health care, energy, science and technology, climate change.
“have not been going anywhere transboundary challenges and threats, international terrorism, drug trafficking, cybercrime. Further collaboration on a variety of international problems, such as Middle Eastern settlement, Iranian nuclear dossier, strategic stability,” added minister.
