In Russia, a rocket engine was tested, which can work more than three thousand seconds (50 minutes), which makes it a record long-lasting. This is reported by TASS.
If you compare with other products, it works almost 10 times more efficiently, since the usual third-step engine rocket works, as a rule, about 280 seconds.
“We conducted such a duration of the test, and the engine worked not only 750 seconds for one start, and worked more than three thousand seconds,” said Victor Gorokhov, chief designer JSC Gorokhov.
He also stressed that the new oxygen-kerosene engine is the most economical, since it is arranged on a closed scheme.
Earlier it was reported that US naval forces conducted the first fire tests of a solid fuel engine intended for hypersonic missiles. In May, Popular Mechanics magazine wrote that LRHW, launched from London, is capable of hitting Moscow during military conflict.
