Tests of American Standard Missile 6 (SM-6) of the Anti-Defense Shipping System (Pro) Aegis ended in failure. This is stated in the statement of the Agency for the US Defense Ministry, reports TASS.
As stated in the report, the US Navy conducted tests together with the Agency on May 29. Their goal was to demonstrate the capabilities of the ship with the Aegis system to detect, track, intercept and destroy the medium-range ballistic missile using two SM-6 anti-abslicas. “However, the interception was not executed,” added there.
At the moment, the American authorities have begun to check to analyze the results and determine the cause of the “problems that may have impeded successful interception.”
It is noted that at present the United States Agency and the US Navy are purchased SM-6 anti-missions created on the basis of SM-2. They can be used when performing tasks both air defense and pro.
