President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) has established itself as an organization that has manifested viability in difficult times. It is reported by BelTA.
According to politics, after the collapse of the USSR, the integration links between the “fraternal republics” have not disappeared anywhere, and the “advanced culture” has been preserved to this day. “It was a great country, and in all respects – a very attractive geopolitical center with a developed economy,” said Lukashenko.
He also called the CIS “fully held by the project” and again turned to the experience of the Great Patriotic War, noting the “centuries-old traditions of friendship”, which were forced after her end. “We have what grandfathers and great-grandfathers presented us with our parents, won in the very bloody war of the last century,” said the head of state.
On May 28, before meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Lukashenko reiterated that the threat was hung over the sovereignty and integrity of Belarus. He did not explain where it comes from, but once again reminded the security forces about the oath.
Lukashenko does not first compare the political situation in the country and abroad since 1941. After the start of mass protests in the republic, according to the results of the presidential election of 2020, he pointed out that he was forced to bring the “floor army” in full combat readiness due to the threat of Western borders. “Soviet army Ubaukali, and in the end it was not ready to reflect aggression. I taught the story well and know it,” said the head of state.
