Personal aircraft of the former Romanian President Nicolae Ceausescu was put up for auction and sold for 120 thousand euros (more than ten million rubles). It is reported by “Russian Gazeta”.
Rombac model plane gone from the hammer 1-11 Ceausescu used for official flights from 1986 to 1989. Including on this plane, Ceausescu made his last trip before the execution in 1989 – to Iran. According to the former pilot, a bedroom and an office are equipped with a plane, where the Romanian leader played backgammon with his wife.
Liner put the Romavia State Aviation Service for auction. She went bankrupt in 2014 and now sells all its assets. Buyers can also acquire a plane next after Ceausescu of President Ion or Sea. Start price – 25 thousand euros (2.2 million rubles).
“Considering the exceptional rarity of these aircraft and their meaning for the technical history of Romania, these two liners were attributed to the category of treasure of mobile national cultural heritage,” concluded in auction house.
Nicolae Ceausescu in different status led Romania from 1965 to 1989, his rule ended with the state coup. Ceausescu tried to run, but was captured, devoted to the Tribunal and shot with his wife.
