Former Astronaut NASA James Halshell admitted his guilt in the case of the unintended murder of two girls in a car accident that occurred in 2016. This is reported by Sky News.
Presumably, Holcell was under the influence of drugs or in a state of alcohol intoxication when he drove on a rented car in the body of another car in which there were two sisters. The younger was 11 years old, older – 13.
Holcell could get 20 years in prison for accusing an intentional murder and 10 years for the accusation of the attack, but the judge agreed to give him four years of probation and another 10 years of supervision. It can be sent to prison for 16 years if he violates his probation period.
Relatives of girls declared the court that were upset by the result. “It’s unfair. My daughters were amazing, beautiful, smart, strong little girls who could become anyone in this world if they had the opportunity to grow, but it was taken away from me and all the others in this world,” The mother of girls Latris Parler (Latrice Parler) spoke.
Holcell worked as astronaut since 1990 – on his account five missions and 1250 hours in space. He commanded the flight three times and twice was the pilot of a space shuttle. American was among the first astronauts flying into space after the collapse of the Shattla “Columbia”. After dismissal in 2006, Holzelle moved to work in the aircraft industry.
