Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov commented on the US decision not to return to the Agreement on the Open Nebu (Don) and called him a mistake. He stated this in conversation with RIA Novosti.
“The decision was expected. It, of course, is not happy, but disappointing, because the United States missed another chance to make a positive contribution to strengthening security in Europe,” the diplomat noted. In his opinion, instead of productive work, Washington “continues insinuations” and nominates regular accusations of Moscow.
In addition, Ryabkov spoke out about the upcoming meeting of Russia’s leaders and the United States Vladimir Putin and Joe Bayden. According to him, the final failure of Washington from Don can create an unfavorable atmosphere between the parties.
The US State Department confirmed the final way out of Don on May 28. The interlocutor RIA Novosti said that the United States does not intend to try to return to the contract, “considering that Moscow could not take any actions to return to its observance.”
