German Energocomputer Uniper, the main partner of Gazprom in Germany, decided to leave Russia and sell all the assets. This is referring to sources in the industry reports Reuters.
Uniper is the largest buyer of Russian gas in the country, and also among investors of the North Stream-2 gas pipeline. In Russia, the company through his “daughter” Unipro owns five gas and coal power plants. Their cumulative power is 11.2 gigawatta, it is about four percent of all power consumption in the country.
According to the publication, representatives of Uniper held talks with Interrao, but did not agree on the price. Nevertheless, the search for buyers continues, the fundamental decision is made, and it will not be abolished. According to the evaluation, which is provided in the material, the cost of the share of Uniper in UNIPRO is 151 billion rubles
The reason for the decision was the plans of the German company to reduce emissions. By 2025, she intends to close most of their German coal power plants. Certain problems in Russia have probably provided its influence. Last year, the UNIPER semi-annual report marked the problems with the resources and productivity of the Russian business.
Earlier it was reported that the Austrian BILLA trading network, owned by the German Rewe Group, decided to leave Russia. The retailer store “Bill Russia” sold “tape”, after the completion of the brand transaction in Russia is not planned.
