United States responded to criticism of Russia about rocket contract

US State Department responded to criticism from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia regarding the implementation of the Treaty on the Reduction of Strategic Offensive Arms (DSNV, an unofficial name – START-3). It is reported by RIA Novosti.

According to the statement of the American department, Washington fully fulfills its obligations under the agreement, which was extended in February of this year, and implements it. The State Department noted that all conversion procedures in the United States fully comply with the decisions of the bilateral advisory commission under the contract.

It is noted that earlier the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharov said that the actions of the United States in the issue of re-equipment of carriers worried Moscow. At the same time, she emphasized that the steps taken by Washington do not violate the contract, but remain a reason for attention.

Before that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia announced the violation of the US START-3. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, in the United States, there are 800 detailed and unexpected launchers of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBS), deployed and uneven starting attitudes of ballistic rockets of submarines (BRPL), deployed and uneven heavy bombers. The Foreign Ministry stressed that Washington reached this indicator not only with the help of a real reduction in weapons, and derived from accounting in the framework of the TRAWENT-II launchers and heavy bombers B-52N.
