Railways prepared to raise tariffs

Russian Railways (Russian Railways) prepared to raise prices for shipping. This is due to the rise in price of building materials, writes RBC.

The carrier has prepared several scenarios of tariff changes to compensate for the costs of sharply growing construction materials in the price of modernizing the Baikal Amur highway (BAM) and Transsib. The company proposed to make the allowance for hotel cargoes or distribute them to all shippers or exporters.

Over the past few months, the cost of metal has grown by 30 percent. As a result, the costs of the modernization of the Eastern Polygon (Bam and Transsib Expansion) jumped by 39.2 billion rubles for the first quarter of the year (up to 760 billion).

Increased tariffs can take for one year (2022th) or three (2022-2024). The size of the premium ranges in the range from 0.74 to 149.73 percent.

previously became known that Russian Railways appealed to the government with a request to finance from the National Welfare Fund (FNB) project construction of railway tracks for the export of coal from Yakutia. It can spend about one hundred billion rubles.

FNB funds are allowed to invest in infrastructure projects, but only those that can pay off. The list of such projects has practically not changed since its appearance, in it, including the modernization of the Bam and Transsib.
