Hero’s birthday of Russia, Cosmonaut’s pilot-cosmonaut Dmitry Kondratieva

Dmitry Yuryevich Kondratyev in January 2001 was appointed as the 1stlight engineer to a duplicating crew under the ISS-5 program together with A. Kalery and S. Kelly. From May 2004 to December 2005, he was trained in the main crew of the ISS-13. In connection with the changes in the flight program, it was translated into training as part of a group of test cosmonauts for flights to the ISS.

From January 2008 to May 2009, Dmitry Kondratyev was preparing as part of the MKS-20/21 duplicate crew as the commander of the Soyuz TMA and the flight engineer of the International Space Station. From June 2009 to June 2010, he was trained in the duplicating crew of the ISS-24/25 as the commander of the ship “Union TMA” and the station engineer.

In June 2010, Dmitry Yuryevich started preparing for a space flight as part of the ISS-26/27 main crew as a commander of the Soyuz TMA, MSC-26 and MSC-27 commander.

Dmitry Kondratyev made his cosmic flight from December 15, 2010 to May 24, 2011 as the commander of the Soyuz TMA-20 ship, the ISS-26 flight engineer and the MSC-27 commander together with Astronauts Paolo Noopoli (Italy) and Catherine Colman (USA). During the flight, two exits in open space with a total duration of 10 hours of 12 minutes. The flight lasted 159 days 08 hours 17 minutes.

For courage and heroism, shown in the implementation of long-term space flights at the International Space Station, the cosmonaut Dmitry Kondratyev was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation. By the same Decree Dmitry Kondratyev also awarded the honorary title of “Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation”.
