Vatican came under the court due to the fact that without demand was used by the work of the Roman artist for the postage stamp. It is reported by Associated Press.
In 2019, the artist Alessia Baberou inflicted a stylized image of Christ on one of the bridges near the Vatican. In 2020, her work appeared on the Easter postage stamp released by the Vatican.
When Babllo learned that her work was used for Vatican postage stamps, her lawyers sent letters to the phylathelistic and numismatic Vatican office, indicating that the artist was the author of the image. However, the Babiro request to discuss the conditions of use of the brand did not follow any official response, after which it filed a lawsuit. The artist requires compensation for damage in the amount of almost 130 thousand euros.
Street-art Baberu is stylized under the well-known work of the German artist of the XIX century Henrich Hofman, but at the Torce of Christ, the artist placed the human heart with the graffiti style with the words “Just Use IT” (“Just use it”). A series of works with the same name includes images of Buddha, Hindu deity Ganesh and Virgin Mary, who can be found throughout Rome.
