In the US state of Colorado, the rescuer helped to reveal the double murder of 39 years ago, identifying the person he helped on the day of the crime, reports The Guardian.
January 6, 1982 in Colorado 21-year-old Annette Shni and 29-year-old Barbara Joe Oscaholzzer disappeared when they caught the travelers on the highway near the ski resort of Breckenridge, where they worked. The Obychasser’s body was found the next day, the body of the shone with a gunshot wound in the back – only after six months.
All these years, the crime remained undisclosed. After 39 years later, suspicion of one of the defendants, Alan Phillips, was confirmed after analyzing DNA samples taken at the crime scene and stored all this time.
Finally, the personality of the criminal helped the former fireman Dave Montoya. When a photo of the Phillips as a suspect was shown on local television, Montoya identified a person in it, which he saved near the scene of the crime on the same night. Phillips stuck on his car on a snow-covered mountain pass and served signals by headlights. He was noticed from a small plane and told the firefighters that went to place. The Phillips delivered to the salvation told Montau then that he got drunk and decided to go home directly through the pass. The fireman remembered that he noticed a big bruise on the face of the Phillips at that moment, but he explained that he hit the car in zero visibility.
Memories of the rescuer allowed the investigators to finally understand that it was the Phillips that was now 70 years old was a criminal. They believe that before getting stuck on the mountain, he kidnapped and shot both girls, throwing their bodies in the river.
Troy’s father was arrested, the court is scheduled for September. All these years, Phillips lived near the murder site.
