Palestinian Hamas movement officially denied his involvement in the threats to “explode” forcibly planted in Minsk Ryanair plane, on board who was the creator of the Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich. This was stated by the official representative of Hamas Fausi Barhum, it quotes Reuters.
According to him, the movement does not use methods that other “suspicious sides” are not bent.
“Hamas has nothing to do with this. We do not resort to such methods that some other suspicious sides can use. They seek to demonize Hamas and prevent universal sympathy for the Palestinian people and his legal resistance,” the Barhum explained.
Earlier on May 24, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Belarus stated that the Ryanair plane threatened to explode over Vilnius demanded in a letter from the European Union (EU) to stop supporting the actions of Israel. The agency claims that the report on the mining of transport came on behalf of the soldiers of the Palestinian movement Hamas, while the authors of the letter allegedly threatened to blow up a bomb in the sky over Vilnius.
On May 23, the airline Ryanair, who followed the route Athens – Vilnius, made an emergency landing in Minsk after mining reports. On board the creator of the Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich was detained. The head of international diplomacy of the European Union Jozep Borrel demanded an international investigation of an incident with a forced landing of an aircraft.
In Belarus, Protasevich is accused of creating extremist formation and calls for mass riots after the presidential elections in August 2020. He may threaten up to 15 years in prison.
