Lithuanian authorities banned foreign and national airlines to fly to their territory through the airspace of Belarus. Reports about it “Interfax”.
New requirements come into force on March 25 (time coincides with Moscow). They were caused by an incident with the emergency landing of the airline Ryanair at the airport of Minsk and the detention of the creator of the Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich.
“Yesterday’s incident showed that, unfortunately, even when our citizens fly in the airspace of our neighboring state, they, unfortunately, are not safe, and we do not know whether the aircraft will be forced to land For any other reasons, “the Minister of Transport of the Republic of the Republic Marius Skodis explained.
He instructed to bring this information to the pilots of all aircraft arriving or traveling from the country.
On May 23, the airline Ryanair, which followed the route Athens – Vilnius, made an emergency landing after a mining report received from Minsk airport. To accompany the ship to the strip, the MiG-29 Air Force Fighter was raised. Immediately after landing, Belarusian security forces detained on board Protasevich and his girl Sophia Sapga.
