Published The release of a minimalist audio player QMMP 1.5.0 . Also updated a collection of plugins that are not included in the basic composition – QMMP Plugin Pack 1.5.0. The program is equipped with a Qt library interface, similar to Winamp or XMMS, and supports connecting covers from these players. QMMP does not depend on Gstreamer and offers support for various sound output systems, for best sound. Including supported output via OSS4 (FreeBSD), ALSA (Linux), Pulse Audio, Jack, QtmultImedia, IceCast, Waveout (Win32), DirectSound (Win32) and Wasapi (Win32). Project code spreads under license GPLV2.

Main innovations:

  • added experimental module of the music library;
  • added experimental output support through the PipeWire multimedia server;
  • built-in CUE file editor;
  • in the FFMPEG module added support M4B;
  • The MPEG module implements an option to enable checksum checks and added the definition of ID3V1 / ID3V2 tag encoding using the librcd library;

  • Improved interface with cover support: Added setting of playlist colors, option “Show lists”, “Group tracks” and “Show tabs” transferred to the “List” submenu;
  • cleaning outdated code and API.
  • to version 3.4 increased the minimum requirements for FFMPEG.
  • renovated translations, including translations into Russian and Ukrainian.
  • In QMMP Plugin Pack plugins, translations are updated, the transfers are made on the QMMP 1.5 API, a quick transition through YouTube-rollers, manual assembler optimizations in the FFAP module is replaced with the Optimization by GCC forces.
