Austria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on an independent international investigation after an incident with the landing of the Ryanair liner in Minsk, writes TASS.
Representatives of the Foreign Ministry insist that the detainee creator of the Telegram channel NEXTA Roman Protasevich, who was among 123 passengers of the aircraft, was released.
On May 23, the airline Ryanair, who followed the route Athens – Vilnius, made an emergency landing in Minsk after mining reports. On board Roman Protasevich was detained. He may threaten the death penalty.
The NEXTA project covered protests against the presidential elections in Belarus in August 2020, he was recognized as a foreign extremist organization and prohibited, and its creators Stepan Putilo and Roman Protasevich are listed in the list of persons involved in terrorist activities. They are accused of organizing mass riots, as well as in the actions aimed at the “initiation of social hostility” in relation to representatives of the authorities and security forces.
