Commercial negotiations with Poland continue, despite the mass of disputes and statements by politicians and companies. This was announced during a press conference, Gazprom, the general director of Gazprom Export, Elena Burmistrov, reports Interfax.
Warsaw argues that it does not intend to extend the contract expired in 2022 for the purchase of Russian gas. In his response, Burmistrova made it clear that Gazprom did not leave hope to continue the direct sale of gas to his long-time partner.
According to her, Poland remains a “reliable counterparty” and is the “Great country” with which Russia has long been cooperating. The deputy chairman of Gazprom called on not to pay attention to the loud words and historical realities, because both countries live in the “Economic Field”.
Also during the Burmistra press conference pointed out that European underground gas storage facilities (PCG) are unprecedented empty. Due to cold winters and spring, stocks are estimated at 33.6 billion cubic meters. It is twice as fewer than on the same time in past years.
The contract for the supply of Poland of Russian Gas was concluded in 1996. Warsaw has repeatedly indicated in recent years that he considers an agreement to be unfair and unprofitable, and even proved its position in the Stockholm arbitration.
The Republic plans to replace the drop-down volumes with liquefied natural gas (LNG), including from Qatar and the United States, as well as its own prey on Norwegian fields.
