Planned correction of ISS orbit

In order to form initial ballistic conditions before the start of the transport piloted ship “Union of MC-19” and the landing of the Soyuz MS-19 ship today, on May 20, 2021, another correction of the orbit of the International Space Station was carried out.

According to the service of ballistic-navigation support of the TSNIMASH flight control center (Roscosmos State Corporation), at 20:01 Moscow time was issued a team to include engines of the MS-16 Transport Cargo Ship engines, which worked 180 seconds. The impulse was 0.2 m / s. After the maneuvers, the average height of the station orbits should increase by 350 meters and reach 419.69 km.

Currently, the parameters of the orbit of the International Space Station are refined. This news will be supplemented as new information arrives.

The launch of the piloted ship “Union MS-19” is scheduled for October 2021. It should arrive at the ISS to the crew as part of the astronaut Roscosmos Anton Dracker, directed by Klim Shipenko and the actress of Yulia Peresilde, which will take pictures of the first feature film in space.

Currently, the crew is on board the International Space Station as part of the astronauts of Roscosmos Oleg Novitsky and Peter Dubrova, NASA Astronauts Mark Wanda Haya, Shane Kimbrou, Megan Macarutur, Astronaut of the European Space Agency and Astronaut of the Japanese Aerospace Research Akihiko Hoshide Agency.
