On Wednesday, May 19, 2021, the Center for Training of Cosmonauts named after Yu.A. Gagarin visited schoolchildren and students from the Republic of Komi. A trip to the cradle of manned cosmonautics – their reward for victory in the Creative Tractor Competition in the Sky, which was timed to the 60th anniversary of the flight of Yuri Gagarin to Cosmos.
The Tractor Competition in the Sky was held for schoolchildren of grades 9-11 and for students of secondary special and higher educational institutions Komi. From January to March 2021, work was taken on five nominations: drawings, photos, poems, stories and essays. The main topic was the first flight of a person in space.
the jury determined ten winners – schoolchildren and student in each nomination. These are young people aged 15 to 22 years old: Amin Musina (Vorkuta), Maria Abidova (Inta), Nikanor Tolstoy (Vorkuta), Pavel Istomin (Sosnogorsk), Vladislav Medvetsky (Ukhta), Alina Babenko (Sysolsky district), Alexey Pavlov (Syktyvkar), Ekaterina Buklovskaya (Princepogostsky district), Diana Torlopov (Syktyvkar) and Kirill Shiryaev (Syktyvkar). The head of Komi Vladimir Ubya personally followed the successes of the participants of the “thrust in the sky” contest.
As a reward, the winners of the competition received a ticket to a star town, where they took place a tour of the center of the training of astronauts. By tradition, she began with the laying of flowers to the monument to Yuri Gagarin. During the acquaintance with the center of the guys, a planetarium, a hydrolaboratory, where the cosmonauts are exhausting the exit skills to open space. Lays of the orbital complex “Peace” and the international space station made a big impression on them.
