Rising prices for potatoes, onions and carrots in Russia over the past week accelerated compared to the previous one, reports RIA Novosti with reference to Rosstat data.
On average, prices for these vegetables have grown by three or four percent, while the week before the takeoff of their price did not exceed three percent. The agency adds that in general since the beginning of the year the cost of potatoes increased by 51 percent, carrots – by 56 percent, onions – by 31 percent.
At the same time, cucumbers and tomatoes have fallen in price over the past week. In general, prices for fruits and vegetables for seven days rose by 0.7 percent.
Also Rosstat adds that for the period from 12 to 17 May, vodka has fallen in price – by 0.2 percent. The same indicator rose meat. Buckwheat in price increased by 0.6 percent, and from the beginning of the year – by 5.9 percent.
