The test is capable of detecting a viral particle in a drop of fluid. The device is portable and runs from batteries. While the device is in the prototype stage, but an approximate price is already announced – 78 dollars, and the cost of reagents and other materials required for testing is 6-7 dollars per test. Many device components can be printed on a 3D printer. It is noted that any person will figure out in the device, it is only important to be careful when placing a sample of saliva in it.
The research team has already experienced the device on 104 clinical samples. It accurately identified 28 out of 30 samples with a positive result on coronavirus and 73 of 74 samples with a negative result.
