Last year, the price of electricity for the industry in Russia was higher than in the United States and some countries of the European Union. This is stated in the study “Community of Energy Community”.
The price of electricity was at the level of 0.73 dollars per kilowatt-hour when connecting to regional distribution networks. The country overtook the United States for this indicator, where he amounted to 0.67 dollars (in Norway – $ 0.34, in France – 0.69 dollars, in Finland and Spain – 0.72 dollars). The average ultimate price of electricity for industry in the United States in 2019 was five percent cheaper than in Russia.
In recent years, there has been a general tendency to reduce energy sectors abroad. However, in Russia during the coronavirus pandemic, they continued their growth, despite the reduction in electricity consumption. In currency terms, the cost for industrial consumers has grown in 2020 by three percent.
The price of electricity for wholesale consumers in the next two years will sharply increase. To this conclusion, the “MARKET REGISTER” (ENERGOROVA REGULATOR) came to the forecast before 2025 at the request of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS).
It is assumed that in the European part of Russia and in the Urals growth will be almost six percent. In Siberia this year, it will reach 15 percent, and next seven percent will increase in the following.
